Success is a shallow concept, meaning its definition may vary from one individual to the next. Therefore, like love, success is an abstraction. It is not easy to define what makes it true. According to popular belief, someone is successful in life if he/she has a lot of (material) things, including a lucrative and decent career, at least a luxury car and a plush home. But, how about the immaterial components of success? Shouldn't success include happiness, good health, enjoying life, etc.? When was the last time you included the following parameters in your measurement of success?

- Your level of self-motivation or self-reliance (how much do you rely on others to motivate you and make you feel worthy)
- Self-awareness (who you truly are. Your place and role in society)
- Understanding of your environment (external factors that can potentially change your life)
- Job satisfaction (are you happy with what you do for a living, e.g. is it gratifying? Do you appreciate your co-workers? Do you see the clients you're supposed to serve as your rivals or the source of your misery?)
- How often do you take time to cultivate yourself?
- How healthy are you? (health isn't the absence of diseases, but an inner feeling of deep overall satisfaction)
- How stressed are you?
